Maintained by Aaron Tomlinson as an independent local guide project. Every listing shows where its facts came from, how confident we are, and when they were last checked. We do not invent ratings, reviews, photos, or schedules.
Trust infrastructureNo fake reviewsSource-gated
Current public sample
A source-backed truck and appearance sample is live for review and owner claims while individual profiles remain quality-gated. Browse the weekend guide and truck factsheets - each profile earns broader distribution only after passing a separate quality gate.
Machine-readable
Machine-readable data
Public feeds summarize what this guide currently knows for LLMs and other agents. The directory is discoverable, while individual truck profiles remain quality-gated until their evidence is deep enough. Feeds only expose source-backed summaries and confirmed appearance rows.
/llms.txt - site purpose, key public URLs, indexing posture, citation rules
/data/summary.json - profile counts, confirmed appearance counts, indexed URL list
/data/guides.json - indexable operator-guide answers, assumptions, and source URLs
/data/weekend.json - confirmed weekend stops with source links and check dates
Feeds are crawlable when the site is public, but they are kept out of the sitemap on purpose. Corrections stay on the submission form.
Truck confidence tiers
Listed - found in a public source such as the truck's own site, its social accounts, or an organizer calendar. Basic facts only.
Verified - a human editor checked the details against a current public source, and the check date is recorded on the listing.
Claimed - the owner or operator has claimed the listing and confirmed its details directly.
Appearance confidence
Owner confirmed - dated or weekly stop from the operator's own site.
Organizer calendar - venue or event calendar naming the truck.
Social post - may support research; never counts as a confirmed weekend appearance alone.
Inferred - never published as confirmed.
The weekend page only treats owner-confirmed and organizer-calendar rows as confirmed.
Corrections
Corrections and claims arrive through the submission form or corrections@lafoodtruckguide.com, land in a moderated queue, and are reviewed by the editor. Accepted corrections target publication within 48 hours of review.
Profile indexing gate
A truck profile is not promoted to search engines until it has a name, cuisine tags, a human-written description, usual corridors, a public source link, a confidence tier, a last-verified date, appearance history or a next confirmed stop, and publishStatus: indexable. Profiles that fall short remain quality-gated - including the current sample.
Operator guides
Economics pages need a direct answer, checklist, assumptions, and sources with access dates before they can be marked indexable. Until then they remain in editorial review. Start with the fee calculator or card-fee guide.
Ranking
Directory order is driven by freshness, source confidence, and alphabetical order. Sponsorship and customer relationships - including with Valetfy, whose founder edits this guide - never affect ranking. See the editorial policy.
